My Story...

Hi, my name is Jennifer Hartzog, and I am a Chronic Back Pain Relief Specialist. Since 2006, I’ve helped over 1300 one-on-one clients with complicated chronic pain issues to reduce or completely eliminate their pain

Some of my clients have stopped going to the chiropractor, others have stopped walking with a cane, and many of them stopped taking pain medication.

They were just like you at one time… in pain for months, years, sometimes even decades.

You see, I suffered for years from chronic pain myself... and if you're going through that now, I can deeply relate to what you're experiencing.

For me, it all began with a car accident...

Actually it was 3 car accidents in the same year! I was in 3 separate car accidents as a passenger when I was just 15 years old, but the pain didn’t start until 6 months later.

So I didn’t think that it was connected. It came on slowly—first in my wrists—and then it moved to other areas of my body. And then... It was with me almost constantly.

But my pain kept coming back. And nobody could tell me why.

One doctor even told me, “There’s nothing wrong with you. You shouldn’t have pain.” But I did. Big time. It hovered around a 6-8 on any given day. And it went on like this every day for decades.

I kept wishing that someone knew how to solve my pain.

I started to get really depressed about it -- it seemed like it was never going to change.

My friends and family didn’t understand what I was going through, and I felt bad when I was cranky around them because of the pain.

I felt frustrated and discouraged.

I tried to just get used to it. (Have you been there?)

I hate to admit it, but at one point, I finally resigned myself to living my life in pain.

I started giving up on the goals and dreams I had for my life because the pain consumed so much of my energy.

Sometimes I was okay with this resignation…

...but other times were much darker.

Some days I would find myself literally screaming at the top of my lungs in my car in sheer frustration and despair.

Or those other times when I found myself just crying alone in my bedroom.

I was constantly asking myself questions like...

  • What the h*@% is causing my pain?
  • What did I do to deserve this?
  • And why can’t I get better already?!?! (insert several expletives!)

But then, during my “darkest hour,” I had one of my biggest breakthroughs.

2004 -- one of the worst years of my life.

My boyfriend dumped me, both my grandmothers died, my dog died, and my pain level skyrocketed.

All the mental stress I was feeling seemed to make my pain much worse.

I suddenly realized that there could be a correlation between my body and my mind.

I realized that I wasn’t addressing one of the underlying reasons behind my pain.

How the stress I was experiencing in my mind was causing an increase in my pain.

I sensed I was on to something...

I began to see that this was perhaps the missing piece to my pain puzzle.

Maybe this was the solution I had been searching for!

What I realized is that most pain relief techniques don’t bring permanent results because they don’t address the underlying root cause.

And that is because most techniques don't focus on one of the most common root causes behind pain--the mind-body connection.

Without addressing this connection, many of the common pain relief methods such as massage, chiropractic care, pills and surgery end up not being as effective as they could be for long-term relief.

Let me tell you a story…

Rachel Morris called me one day with intense lower back pain.

For months, she had been planning a week-long solo backpacking trip, so she was really worried that she wouldn't be able to go due to the pain.

It had seemed to come out of nowhere, and she wasn’t sure why.

The pain was pinching deep in her lower back. It made it hard for her to get out of bed and stand up, let alone move around!

Needless to say, it was definitely interfering with her life and her travel plans.

Maria Papaturi,

shoulder pain for 20 years

For example, a woman named Maria Papaturi from Toronto who had fibromyalgia for a long time contacted me one day. She had been struggling with daily chronic pain in her shoulders.

The pain was consistent throughout the day at a level of 6. She told me, “I’ve had it for 20 years every day--I can’t be touched. I can’t be hugged.”

When she would lightly touch her own shoulders, the pain went up even higher. It would bring tears to her eyes!

And when someone else would touch or hug her, it jumped up to a 10! It felt like someone was punching her in the shoulder!

At her mother’s funeral, she had to tell people not to hug her because it was so painful. Imagine not being able to be hugged by the people you love because the pain in your shoulders is so bad!

In our very first session, we addressed the underlying root cause behind her pain, and Maria was able to release a past emotional event using my Mind-Body Pain Solution, which allowed her body to let go of the pain. At the end of the session, she exclaimed, “My shoulder pain is gone! I don’t feel anything! It’s at a 0!”

She was completely blown away.

I checked in with her again several weeks later and she said to me, “It’s still gone! I can do whatever I want! I can get strong bear hugs without feeling any pain! I can move my arms, I can raise my arms, I’m not afraid of moving because I don’t feel pain.

Over a year later, she is still pain-free!

The Secret to Solving the

Here’s one of the real secrets that I have found a lot of people--and professionals--miss when it comes to solving back pain.

Just as it takes more than 1 ingredient to make a recipe, it often takes more than 1 technique or method to heal chronic pain.

What I realized was that solving pain needs to be approached the same way as solving a jigsaw puzzle.

So, the thing with the chiropractor, for example, is that while he or she can be very effective…

…they are just 1 piece of the puzzle.

Many people go to the chiropractor, or to another practitioner, hoping that technique will be the magic bullet to solve their pain. (I know I did this!)

When the pain doesn’t go away, they give up, thinking that it’s not solvable. This can keep people in pain for years!

What they don’t realize is that..

There are missing pieces to their pain puzzle.

So--how do you know if you’re missing a piece to your pain puzzle?

The pain is still there.

Here’s the thing--you’ve been doing things to try to fix your pain. And some of those things may have helped to some degree.
